AMD’s Zacate E-350 APU (better known to casual observers as a member of the Fusion platform) has been shocking critics since its long-awaiting introduction earlier in the year, finally giving people a real alternative to Intel’s historically sluggish Atom lineup.
In the event that you’ve been waiting for Fusion-based options from MSI, a couple of previously introduced machines are now making their way out to the shipping docks. First up, it’s the 15.6-inch CR650, complete with a dual-core E-350 APU (which includes a Radeon HD 6310 discrete-class graphics chip), an HDMI port, 720p webcam and a downright luscious $499.99 starting price. For those looking for something a wee bit less portable, or for those looking to significantly increase their load, the Fusion-backed Wind Top AE2050 ($679.99) is also shipping to Earthlings in North America.
The recently leaked Acer Aspire One AOD522, the first netbook with an AMD Fusion APU, is now available for pre-order.
Amazon offers the Acer Aspire One AO522-BZ897 with the AMD C-50 “Ontario” chip incorporating 1GHz dual-core processor, built-in ATI Radeon HD 6250 graphics, and HD video decoder supporting 1080p playback. The AMD A50M chipset-based netbook sports a 10.1-inch WXGA LED-backlit display, 1GB of DDR3 memory, a 250GB hard drive, 6-cell battery for “up to 6 hours” of battery life, and Windows 7 Starter operating system.
Acer’s 2.87-pound Fusion-based mini laptop has a 1.3MP web camera, HDMI output, 802.11n Wi-Fi, three USB ports, a multi-in-one media card reader, and a chassis design like in older Aspire One models.
The Acer Aspire One AO522-BZ897 is priced at $329.99 (Amazon).
HP Home & Home Office has now made available the 11.6” Mini 311 notebook and 10.1” HP Mini 110 netbooks with Windows 7.

There’s also the HP Mini 110 Tord Boontje Edition which only ships with Windows 7 Starter.

Lenovo Japan is releasing the NVidia ION powered 12.1” Lenovo S12 netbook on the 22nd October, the day Windows 7 launches. It will cost 68,800 yen ($757).
