Sony Launches 11.6-Inch Sony Vaio Y Notebook
Sony Japan has just announced a new 11.6-inch notebook today in their Y series of notebooks which already included a 13.3-inch notebook from earlier this year. Both models are based on Intel’s thin and light platform with Intel HD graphics.
The lower end model has a Core i3-330UM processor (1.2 GHz), 4GB DDR3 RAM and 500GB HDD while the higher end model has a Core i3-380UM processor (1.33 GHz) processor, 2GB DDR3 RAM and 320GB HDD. Both share a 11.6″ 1366 x 768 (glossy) display and Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Ports – 3 x USB 2.0, Gigabit LAN, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, HDMI, VGA, SD card, card reader, 0.3MP webcam and audio jacks. Battery is good for up to 6 hours. Total weight is 1.46 kg / 3.2 lbs.
It’ll go on sale in Japan from the 27th November, this month with a price of around 110,000 yen ($1,346). It seems to be only available in black currently.
