Acer Aspire AS8943G 18.4″ Entertainment Laptop Now on Sale
Acer has announced the US availability of the Aspire AS8943G, a newly designed 18.4-inch entertainment laptop, featuring a full HD display, an Intel quad-core processor, and ATI dedicated graphics.
The Acer Aspire AS8943G, which belongs to the Aspire Ethos line, is available in two configurations: the AS8943G-6190 and AS8943G-6782, both with the Intel Core i7 720QM CPU, the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 1GB video card, a 500GB hard drive, a Blu-ray Combo drive, and an 8-cell battery for up to 3 hours run time. The AS8943G-6190 has 4GB of DDR3 memory, whereas the AS8943G-6782 comes with 8GB. The RAM is expandable to 16GB.
The 8943G’s CineCrystal 18.4-inch 1080p 1920×1080 LED back-lit display is covered with edge-to-edge glass.
Acer’s desktop replacement notebook also includes five built-in speakers and a dedicated subwoofer, Dolby Home Theatre Audio, a new dual-mode touchpad with capacitive touch media controller icons, allowing users to switch between multi-gesture mode to media console mode, a chiclet style keyboard with a dedicated numeric pad, a 1.3MP webcam, HDMI and VGA outputs, 802.11n Wi-Fi, four USB ports, and a Fingerprint reader.
The laptop weighs 10.1 pounds and runs Windows 7 Home Premium OS.
Customers can purchase the AS8943G-6190 and AS8943G-6782 for $1,549.99 (Amazon, pre-oreder) and $1,599.99 (Newegg), respectively.
