Asustek has released another Intel “Sandy Bridge”-based laptop – the 15.6-inch Asus K53E.
Currently available in the US are two configurations: the Asus K53E-A1 with the Intel Core i3-2310M and the Asus K53E-B1 with the Core i5-2410M processor, both with dual CPU cores. The laptops have the Intel GMA HD integrated GPU, 6GB of DDR3 memory, a 640GB hard drive, DVD burner, 1366×768 LED backlight display, and 6-cell battery.
Asustek’s mainstream-class K53E has a 0.3MP web camera, Altec Lansing speakers, 802.11n wireless, Gigabit Ethernet port, three USB 2.0 connectors, HDMI and VGA video outputs, a 4-in-1 media card reader, and IceCool Technology that keeps palm rests cool, “placing heat-producing components away from users”.
The dark-brown Asus K53E-A1 and K53E-B1 run Windows 7 Home Premium OS and are priced at $631.38 and $723.18, respectively.
The laptop maker has also K53SV and K53SJ listed on the company’s website, but these are not available for purchase. The SV and SJ include dedicated Nvidia video cards and optional Core i7 quad-core processors.
