Lenovo’s 11.6-inch AMD Fusion based IdeaPad S205 is expected to ship this month along with the 10-inch S100 netbook, and with it popping up at the FCC we can probably expect it to arrive at the end of March.
Nothing really to add here except it did show up with built-in HSPA 3G but mobile broadband connections are nothing new to Lenovo notebooks. Still no sign of either IdeaPads at Lenovo.com.
Specs again – an 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 display, AMD Zacate E-350 APU, 8GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 750GB HDD, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, HDMI, USB 2.0, card reader and optional 3G.
Coby is best known for making cheap consumer electronics ranging from headphones to mp3 players and portable video devices. But the company has been dipping its toes in the low cost laptop space for the last few years as well. Last time I checked Coby had only sold a handful of 7 to 10 inch netbooks in the US, but most of the models I’d seen at trade shows featured Intel components. Now it looks like coby is branching out with a 13.3 inch notebook powered by an AMD Neo processor.
The FCC has published documents related to a Coby NBPC1330. The machine has a large 13.3 inch LCD display, but it only has a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution, which seems a bit… insane for a notebook this large.
The NBPC1330 also has a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 CPU, 160GB hard drive, and 1GB of DDR2 memory. It supports 802.11b/g/n WiFi and has VGA and HDMI ports. It comes with 3 USB ports, mic and headphone jacks, a 0.3MP webcam, SD card reader, and a 3 cell battery.
There’s no word on how much this notebook will cost — or if it will actually come to market. The user manual does suggest that all specs are subject to change, so I can only hope that the information about the display resolution is either wrong or will be changed before the Coby NBPC1330 is released.
First we got to fiddle with it at CeBIT, then we saw a boatload of press images (You may notice that’s a picture of the 1015PE up there – don’t fret, the two models look identical), and now the Eee PC 1015P has taken an important step to becoming a reality – it’s gone through the FCC.
The 1015P is part of the Eee PC Seashell series, features a really nice big trackpad, chiclet keyboard, Atom N450 processor (anybody want to take bets on how long until it gets updated with an N455?), that svelte Seashell chassis, and a touted 14 hour battery life.
Still no official word on when this model will hit, but, for the US at least, it can’t be long now!
There’s no telling whether HP actually plans to release a netbook looking quite like this in the US… but Wireless Goodness spotted a new pink HP Mini 210 at the FCC web site. And it doesn’t just have a pink keyboard and chassis… it also has plaid lid and touchpad with multiple shades of pink and purple. It’s an… interesting aesthetic choice.
Spec-wise, this model has a Gobi2000 wireless module for connecting to 3G wireless networks around the globe. No word on whether that’ s a standard feature or simply an option.
HP currently offers the HP Mini 210 netbook in 5 designs. You can get it in “black crystal,” “sonoma red,” “pacific blue,” “silver crystal,” or the gold and orange butterfly pattern of the HP Mini 210 Vivienne Tam Edition.
