AMD’s E series APU, the one that shares the CPU and an integrated graphics solution on the same silicon chip, has landed on a new manufacturer’s wares today. That new kid on the block is the 15.6-inch Gateway NV Series.
Two different Gateway notebooks will support the AMD platform. The Gateway NV51B05u will pair the E-350 with ATI Radeon HD 6310 discrete graphics for better casual game play and online video streaming, and will start at $499.99. The other option, the NV 51B02u, won’t include the ATI Radeon graphics, and starts at an even friendlier $399. Both systems pack the Gateway NV Series’ familiar LED-backlit pixel display with a 1366×768 pixel resolution, a 1.3-MP webcam, 3 USB ports, and HDMI.

The Gateway EC14D07u is a compact laptop with the 11.6 inch TFT active matrix display screen that can provide native resolutions up to 1366 x 768 pixels.
The laptop is incorporated with 1.3 GHz ultra low voltage Intel Pentium SU4100 processor and 4GB DDR2 SDRAM with 320 GB ATA hard drive with 5400 rpm. Also, the laptop has Intel GMA 4500MHD graphic processor with Mobile Intel GS45 Express chipset. The laptop is equipped with the multi-format DVD writer with the 3 USB 2.0 ports, 1 HDMI out and 5-1 memory card reader. The laptop also has integrated camera with the gigabit Ethernet LAN and Wi-Fi for the network connectivity.
The Gateway LT3201u is a low-to-mid priced netbook.
This netbook skips the usual Intel Atom processor for an AMD Athlon Neo II K125 processor. Although it is a single core processor, the Neo is positioned as a better performer than the Atom. The LT3201u also includes ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 graphics, 2GB of RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium operating system. It has an 11.6 inch HD widescreen Ultra bright LED-backlit display. The large keyboard allowed easy typing although the touchpad was not all that impressive. The HD display was crisp and clear even while displaying HD videos. The LT3201u is reasonably priced.

Gateway has just outed a new 11.6-incher over in Japan, with the EC19C-A52C/S boasting some of the most impressive specifications we’ve seen in a unit this compact.
A 1.33GHz dual-core Core i5-470UM processor sits at the heart of this here lappie, and it’s accompanied by a 320GB hard drive, 1366 x 768 resolution display, 2GB of RAM, HDMI / VGA outputs, an inbuilt Ethernet port and a six-cell battery that should last half a dozen hours (on a good day). As expected, you’ll also find a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 4-in-1 card reader, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) and Bluetooth 3.0 (a nice touch, we’ll confess), with sales expected to start right about now in the Land of the Rising Sun. As for pricing? Try ¥65,000, or right around $775. Told you it didn’t quite fit the netbook category.
The Gateway NV7901u comes with a 2.26 GHz Intel Core i5 processor and a dedicated ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650 graphics and offers a decent performance.
It has a bright 17.3-inch LED-backlit screen, with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 1,600×900 native resolution. The integrated speakers offer a better than average sound quality. There are the usual HDMI and USB ports on the laptop for extending the connectivity, though eSata and ExpressCard ports are absent. A 500GB hard disk and 4GB RAM along with great graphics offering a good performance making this is the laptop to go for.
Last month Gateway introduces the LT32 notebook, which is basically a rebranded version of the Acer Aspire One 721 11.6 inch laptop with a 1.7GHz AMD Athlon II Neo K125 CPU and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. But it looks like Gateway also has a 10.1 inch model in its arsenal, dubbed the Gateway LT22.
The new model is basically the same machine as the Acer Aspire One 521 netbook which I recently reviewed. On the inside it’s virtually identical to the LT32, but the LT22 has a smaller 10.1 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display instead of an 11.6 inch 1366 x 768 pixel screen. It also has a smaller chassis and keyboard.
The LT22 also ships with Windows 7 Starter Edition while the LT32 comes with Windows 7 Home Premium. They’re available now in Canada for $350 and $450 respectively. The Gateway LT32 is also available in the US for $450, but there’s still no word on a US launch date or price for the Gateway LT22.
Sure, there’s more to a gadget’s value equation than style, but it’s hard not to notice how futuristically beautiful Gateway’s new ID series laptops are. The notebooks, available with 14- and 15.6-inch screens (they’re the ID49 and ID59, respectively), have silver lids and chassis, with trackpads that glow blue when you touch them (it supports multitouch gestures, by the by). Because hefty notebooks are a buzzkill, these measure a slim inch thick.
We actually first laid eyes on these notebooks earlier this month at the Computex show in Taipei, where Acer had a number of gorgeous looking Gateway systems on display. The picture at the top of this post comes straight from the show floor.
But what about the specs, you say? These notebooks come with 4GB of RAM and have 1366 x 768 screens, and can be configured with Core i3 or Core i5 processors. Higher-end configurations may have Nvidia’s Optimus technology, which automatically switches between powerful discrete graphics and power-saving integrated ones depending on what you’re doing with your laptop. The speakers promise better-than-average sound quality, thanks to Dolby Home Theater v3 audio technology. Other specs you should come to expect in a laptop include wireless-N Wi-Fi and a 1.3-MP webcam.
The 14-inch ID49 starts at $679 and the 15.6-inch ID59 starts at $799.
Gateway has unveiled its new LT23 line of netbooks. Gateway LT23 is outfitted with a 10.1-inch 1024×600 pixel display, Atom N450 processor, GMA 3150 graphics, 1GB RAM, 160/250GB HDD and a 6-cell battery rated to run for 8 hours in a row.
The LT23 series starts at 330 dollars. However, it is surely surprising not to see new Atom N455/Atom N475 processors in the Gateway’s latest netbook offerings.
Here’s another AMD-based notebook from Gateway, the NV53A-H32D/S. Powered by a 2.3GHz AMD Athlon II N330 Dual-Core, the system boasts a 15.6-inch 1366 x 768 Ultrabright HD TFT display, an ATI Radeon HD 4250 graphics card, a 2GB RAM (up to 8GB), a 500GB hard drive, a 1.3MP webcam, a DVD burner, a 4-in-1 card reader, WiFi, a 6-cell battery and runs on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OS. The Gateway NV53A-H32D/S will start shipping from May 28th for $700.
