The HP Envy 17 3D notebook, announced last month, is now available for purchase.
The 3D-capable Envy 17 starts at $1,599.99 and includes a full HD display, active shutter glasses, Intel Core i7 processor choices, and the ATI Radeon HD 5850 dedicated graphics.

Hewlett-Packard announced the HP Envy 17 3D, “the first 17-inch notebook PC to support 1080p 3D and Blu-ray”.
Besides the 3D-capable full HD Ultra BrightView display, 3D active shutter glasses, and a Blu-ray optical drive, the Envy 17 3D includes Beats Audio with a Triple Bass Reflex subwoofer, Intel’s Core i7 processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850 dedicated graphics, ATI Eyefinity Technology for multiple external display support, and up to 2TB of storage capacity.
The HP ENVY 17 3D is expected to be available this holiday season. There’s no word on pricing.
The HP Envy 17 is now available for purchase. The base configuration of Envy 17 features a 2.26GHz Intel Core i5 CPU with a 4GB of RAM, a 320GB HDD, a 17-inch (1600 x 900) LCD display and an ATI Radion HD 5850 graphics. HP’s recommended configuration for the Envy 17 is powered by a 2.6GHz Intel Core i7 CPU, a 6GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive and a 17-inch (1920 x 1080) LCD display. Both models come equipped with a 6-cell Lithium-Ion battery (up to 2.5 hours), or you can upgrade to a 9-cell (up to 3.75 hours). The basic and recommended configurations are priced at $1,400 and $2,150, respectively.
Hewlett-Packard has announced two new models from their Envy high performance consumer laptop series – the 14.5-inch HP Envy 14 and 17″ Envy 17.
Both notebooks feature the latest 2010 Intel Core processors and ATI Radeon HD 5830 discrete graphics. They also include backlit keyboards, slot-loading optical drives, HP TrueVision HD web cameras, mini DisplayPort output, the latest wireless options including 3G mobile broadband in the Envy 14, and Beats Audio developed by HP and Beats by Dr. Dre.
According to the press release, the 14.5-inch Envy 14 is “one of the thinnest and lightest quad-core notebooks available in the world” and has a battery life of up to six hours. The laptop has the Radiance display “that offers picture quality up to 59% brighter than any notebook with a standard display”.
Regarding the Envy 17, the company revealed that it includes the Intel Core i5 or i7 CPU and up to 2TB of hard disk space.
The Envy 14 will be available in the United States on June 27, while the 17’s availability is announced for May 19. The starting price for the 14 and 17 is $999.99 and $1,399.99, respectively.
