Toshiba Qosmio X500-Q930X with Fixed Chipset Now Available
Toshiba has released the Qosmio X500-Q930X, a new version of the Intel “Sandy Bridge”-based 18.4-inch gaming and multimedia laptop.
The Toshiba Qosmio X500-Q930X replaces the recalled X500-Q930S. Both notebooks have the same specifications and the only difference is apparently the fixed Intel 6 series “Cougar Point” chipset (B3 stepping) in the Q930X, which was faulty in the earlier version of the notebook.
The X500-Q930X features the Intel Core i7-2630QM quad-core 2GHz processor that can run at up to 2.9Ghz in TurboBoost mode. There are also the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M 1.5GB video card, full HD display, 8GB of fast 1,333MHz DDR3 RAM, dual hard drives providing 1TB of storage combined, and a Blu-ray combo drive.
The 10.1-pound laptop has Harman-Kardon stereo speakers, Dolby Home Theater sound technology, a backlight keyboard, webcam, microphone, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, Gigabit LAN, HDMI and VGA video connectors, three USB 2.0 ports and an eSATA/USB 2.0 port, a multi-in-one media card reader, Firewire, and an ExpressCard slot.
The X500-Q930X provides a battery life of up to 3.55 hours, according to Toshiba.
It has the Fusion Finish in Omega Black and runs Windows 7 Professional OS.
The “Sandy Bridge”-powered Qosmio X500-Q930X is priced at $1,899 on Toshiba’s website.
