Sony Adds AMD CPUs to VAIO E Laptops

Sony has added AMD processors to its VAIO E Series laptop lineup, ending a years-long period of Intel-only VAIO notebook offerings.
The 15.5-inch VAIO EE (VPC-EE25FX/WI) sold by Best Buy and 17.3-inch VAIO EF (VPC-EF22FX/Bl) at Fry’s are based on AMD 2010 Mainstream Notebook Platform and feature the Athlon II X2 P320 2.1GHz dual-core processor, ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 integrated graphics, 4GB DDR3 memory, and 320GB and 500GB hard drives, respectively.
The Sony VAIO VPC-EE25FX/WI and VPC-EF22FX/Bl are priced at $649.99 and $719.99.
